Modern dispensationalist, mainstream Judeo-Christianity is philo-Semitic; they worship the Jew - in part because they believe today's Jews have some part in the fulfillment of biblical prophecy. Their misguided ideas go well beyond a simple belief in something that has no foundation. They work themselves into a tearful, blubbering, incoherent mess as they slather on thick how the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob has not abandoned these Yiddish-speaking, Christ-denying people:
Perhaps the greatest and most obvious testimony to the accuracy of Biblical prophecy is provided by the people and nation of Israel. The Jews went without a homeland for 1900 years, just as God had promised numerous times in the Old Testament, as a reluctant judgment on His rebellious chosen people. Moses warned Israel that if they corrupted themselves, then "the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other (Deut 28:64, KJV)". Remarkably, this century God restored the Jews to their ancient homeland, fulfilling many other specific Old Testament prophesies. (Accuracy Of Prophecy, http://www.bibleevidences.com/prophecy.htm)
In this second part of The Jews in Prophecy, I will quickly address the remaining 13 prophecies which, according to David Reagan of Lamb & Lion Ministries, remain unfulfilled. The first category, Prophecies Currently Being Fulfilled, was addressed in The Jews in Prophecy Part 1. In summary, some important doctrinal corrections made in this message were:
- The Diaspora (the scattering of the Israelites throughout the nations) occurred hundreds of years before Christ, as the northern House of Israel was taken into Assyrian captivity and the southern House of Judah (the Jews) were taken into Babylonian captivity. The inspired writers of the New Testament , as well as Jesus Himself, applied the prophecies to the then-existent Diaspora and to that first century generation.
- According to the Inspired Word, all the scattered tribes of Israel (not just the Jews) were prophesied to be restored, redeemed, justified, sanctified and married once again to their God in Jesus' generation. The bulk of Israel were never called "Jews" and were scattered long before the term "Jew" was first used.
- All the land promised made to the Covenant people were fulfilled over 2500 years ago, and no provision was made for a disobedient, rebellious, unrepentant remnant people to return to the land.
- There is no historical, biblical, archaeological or etymological evidence that today's Jews trace their genetic heritage to the line of Jacob. In fact, their own scholarship admits that the forefathers of the Jews today never set foot on Palestine.
If any one of these four key points are true, then the modern dispensational house of cards tumble to the ground. Yet only a modest amount of research confirms all four of these key points are true, and the myth of a modern Diaspora and their prophesied return to the land persists.
Prophecy: The Arab nations of the world will attack Israel in a coordinated effort to annihilate the state (Psalm 83).
The peoples who have "consulted together" in Psalm 83:3 did not comprise a singular culture or faith (as in the modern perception of the Arab nations) but of the Assyrian (Assur), Esau/Edom (Amelek), the Semitic Moabites, the children of Lot (Ammon) and even Phoenician cities of Byblos and Tyre. These peoples were all close racial kin to the Israelites, but worshipped other gods.
The dispensationalist cannot believe that the modern Arab world is close racial kin to the Israelites. Consider that to make that claim, logically, the modern Arabs would be "anti-Semite". Also, the modern Arab world is considered by dispensationalists to be singularly motivated by the Muslim faith, where Psalm 83 implies a consortium of different faiths and gods that God will judge (Psalms 82:1) and will inherit (Psalms 82:8) because the Covenant people had walked in the council of these other gods (Psalms 81:14). Modern Israelis did not walk in the council of Marduk, Assur or Baal in any direct sense.
Psalms 83 concerns historical people, places and events. The Jews did not even exist during the time of King David. The nation of Israel was united at this time, nearly 3000 years ago, with all twelve tribes.
Prophecy: Israel will soundly defeat the Arab alliance (Zechariah 12:6).
If the Zionist reader of Zechariah 12 does not accept the many prophecies confirming the utter destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple, then he is certainly keen on finding language which seems to say something different. The highly-metaphoric language of Zechariah fits the bill in an attempt to pit the prophets against themselves.
It is not the horses and riders of the attackers which became blind and mad, but those of the city's defense (Zechariah 12:4). The "cup of trembling" is something Jerusalem herself must drink. The people which were devoured by the governors of Judah (Zechariah 12:6) were not the attackers, but the people which brought the governors to power and supported them.
It is through the destruction of Jerusalem that Jerusalem - the Holy City - is saved! I implore the futurist to read Zechariah carefully. How is it that the Lord will "defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem" and make the feeble among them as David (Zechariah 12:8) but also there be great mourning, with "every family apart" (Zechariah 12:12-14) and no more pity for the inhabitants of the land (Zechariah 11:7)?
The battle concerned the "glory of the House of David" and the "glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem" which had subverted Judah itself:
The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah. (Zechariah 12:7)
The "tents of Judah" were to be saved from the then-empowered, corrupt leadership (which Jesus ultimately described as having set themselves "on the seat of Moses" and "taken the Kingdom by force"). The shepherd of their own kin was to be smitten by a sheep to be scattered (Zechariah 13:7). Confirmation of this event is found in secular history: Jerusalem's corrupt Pharisaic leadership was overthrown nearly 2000 years ago in a civil war characterized by brutal revolt and assassinations.
After the Roman armies ultimately seized and burned the city in AD 70, during the reign of Vespasian, surviving Jews fled, were imprisoned or put into slavery. These fleeing people were not all twelve tribes; they were Jews: a small portion of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin alone. This is not the Disapora of Old Testament prophesy. The vast majority of Israelites were never known as Jews, considered themselves Jewish, or had ancestors surviving the siege of Jerusalem 2000 years ago.
The prophet Zechariah is describing revolution; revolt. It is, then, in an figurative and enduring sense that God will " destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem" (Zechariah 12:9). After 2000 years, Jerusalem is still the Holy City, and the Temple remains, where God tabernacles with man! The Lord of Hosts has, indeed, cut off the names of the idols out of the old land, and they are no longer remembered. The (false) prophets and unclean spirits were also passed out of the land, as prophesied in Zechariah 13:2. The prophets did not prophesy falsely.
Prophecy: Israel will dwell in security and prosperity (Ezekiel 38:11).
Let's read Ezekiel 38:11:
And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates...
As I pointed out, this does not match the description of the modern city of Jerusalem, which is building walls and gates at a rapid pace. The prophets Daniel (11:15) and Isaiah (25:12) also confirm that the walled city would be brought down, and the Covenant people ultimately would not dwell in towns without walls.
The language of cities not having walls is symbolic, as we shall shortly see, but look around you! In the United States alone, the evidence of fulfillment of this prophecy is all around us. There are no walls around Hebron, Kentucky or Lebanon, Indiana. Salem and Mt. Gilead, Ohio have neither bars nor gates (Ezekiel 38:11). You won't find them in Damascus, Maryland. God's people, which are great and number and comprise many nations - in fulfillment of prophecy - do not have security checkpoints and armed guards at gates like we find in the Israeli state in occupied Palestine.
David Reagan, like the bulk of mainstream Judeo-Christian teachers, has tragically missed what should be obvious because he has misidentified the Covenant people. As the prophet Isaiah prophesied, their old name has become a curse, and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind (Isaiah 65:16-17). We have become a people who have forgotten our inheritance, and - instead - have given it to a godless, undeserving people whose name is cursed.
Nevertheless, the walls of the new Jerusalem, as described by the Apostle John in Revelation 21, are described with symbolic figures (ie: walls 144 cubits) - not literal figures. The prophets were consistent: the walls will be Salvation (Isaiah 26:1) and the gates praise (Isaiah 60:18). A literal Jerusalem will not be lit by the sun or the moon, but by Yahweh (Isaiah 16:19:20). Only a figurative Jerusalem can meet this description, which is also found in Revelation 21:23. Ours is a Perfect High Priest and a Heavenly Jerusalem (Hebrews 12:22-24). We have a New Covenant and a New City here and now. The foundation for the New Temple is our precious Savior, Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:11).
I want to make an important point here. Any claim that there will be a physical future Jewish city and a future literal temple denies our current New Covenant promise which we now have. It seeks a return to the "weak and beggarly elements" that the old priesthood administered, a return to the imperfect sacrifice, and an implicit denial of the completed work of the slain Lamb of God. It seeks to empower a people who both deny our Savior and historically have been a curse to the nations. Of course, the importance of these problems cannot be understated: mainstream Christianity has been Judaized, and the evidence is found in mainstream futurist eschatology. If you are caught up in a congregation that believes in these things, I encourage you to leave that congregation.
Prophecy: A Russian coalition consisting mainly of Muslim nations will invade Israel (Ezekiel 38:1-17).
Because the ancient, historical area of Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya are mentioned in Ezekiel 38:5, and the region today has largely embraced the Muslim faith, David Reagan has concluded prophet is referencing Muslims. Islam, which arrived over 1000 years after the time of Ezekiel, wasn't even around when Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish existed (Ezekiel 38:13).
Ezekiel describes the taking of cattle as spoil, riding upon horses with bucklers, shields and swords. Does this sound like a modern, 21st century battle scenario to you?
Russia is not mentioned in Scripture, or a Muslim "coalition". Search and search through Scripture, but you will not find it; it takes imagination and motive to make the words of the prophets mean something that was not said.
Prophecy: The Russian coalition will be destroyed supernaturally by God (Ezekiel 38:18-23 & 39:1-8).
It may be that many mainstream denominations and congregations prefer to stay away from Bible prophecy, thinking that any of their members can believe any eschatological view without harm. This so-called prophecy is proof that such a policy can be deadly.
Dispensational Judeo-Christians are once again beating the war drums, which can lead to a demand for the blood of our sons and daughters. As I write this, Crimea has embraced Russia through democratic process. It rejected the Jewish puppet figure, Arseniy Yatseniuk, placed there by Western powers. The rhetoric of the enraged, criminal US neo-cons and EU backers are in once again lock-stepped with Judeo-Christians, which can lead to World War 3. Here is an example of the dangerous prophecy drivel commonly accepted by Judeo-Christians:
The miracle of the nation of Israel cannot be under estimated, if one tries to understand these conflicts around the world, and their conclusion. Ezekiel, 2600-years ago, along with the other prophets of the Bible, foretold of a national rebirth of Israel, gathered from the nations (Ezekiel 36-37). Ezekiel followed this by describing a confederation of nations who would attack a reborn, nation assembled out of the nations in Ezekiel 38 and 39. This event is known in the Bible as the battle of Gog and Magog. (Gog, Magog, Israel and Russia, truthnet.org)
In 1971, U.S. president Ronald Reagan said:
Biblical scholars have been saying for generations that Gog must be Russia. What other powerful nation is to the north of Israel? None.”
Bible scholars disagree on the meaning of Gog and Magog, but note that Josephus attributed them to the Scythians. Eusebius attributed them to the Romans. Gog and Magog has long been associated with the Goths (the Germanic and Scandinavian peoples). Assyrian court records Gog as being the historical nations of the 6th century BC, stretching across ancient Asia Minor. To the Greeks, Gog was the historical figure of Gyges, and Magog (land of Gog) was Lydia. All these people were generally Adamic racial kinsmen to the two-tribed House of Judah.
Where, then, does the idea of Gog and Magog being Russia come from? Blame it on the fantastically successful book The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey. Without any justification at all, the author associated Meshech (Ezekiel 38:2-3) with Moscow. Also, some have tried to make the Hebrew word rosh (translated as "chief" in Ezekiel 38:2) as relating to modern, similar-sounding "Russia". Of course, translations are not made based on word sounds, but word meanings! In the Strongs Concordance, H7218 (rosh) means "chief" - not "Russia". Lindsey likely leaned on earlier work:
The erroneous belief that Russia is Magog can be traced back to a small group of 18th and 19th century theologians who wrote long before the primary evidence from the ancient Assyrian records was discovered, translated and made available to the public. (Debunking the Russia/War of Gog and Magog Myth, Jeffrey Goodman, Ph.D.)
Gog and Magog does aptly describe the invading people assembled in the first century against the Holy City. The tablets translated from the Assyrian Library of Ashurbanipal establishes without question who these people were, their migrations, their name/places and their etymology.
Prophecy: The Antichrist will intervene and guarantee the security of Israel, enabling the Jews to rebuild their Temple (Daniel 9:27).
The Bible is silent about an individual called the "Antichrist". The Antichrist myth persists through the centuries with no biblical support. This make-believe evil personality has been worked into the mainstream view of Bible prophecy in alarming ways. Attempts to fit this character in the words of the prophet Daniel Chapter 9:27 simply do not work. Let's read the passage:
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. (Daniel 9:27)
Who is the "he" which is to "confirm the covenant" in this verse? Back up to verse 26: it is the Messiah - the "prince" of "the people". Here is the verse:
And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. (Daniel 9:26)
If the "prince" of Daniel 9:26 is the same person that "confirmed the covenant" in Daniel 9:27, then who is that prince? Back up one more verse:
Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks... (Daniel 9:25)
What was "the covenant" that Daniel was referring to? You'll find the Hebrew beriyth (covenant) 284 times in the Inspired Word, but not one mention of a covenant made between Antichrist and "the people".
Daniel prophesied concerning the covenant made by Yahweh to His servant, Jacob/Israel, in Genesis Chapter 17. It was confirmed by Jesus to "many" nearly 2000 years ago.
Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers... (Romans 15:8)
How tragic that mainstream Christianity misses this very powerful fact: the act of Communion is a perpetual confirmation of that Covenant. It was given to a specific people for a specific purpose.
"The people" had become "many nations" and were "the people of the Prince" through Covenant! Don't miss this: it was these very people (the nations) that were prophesied to destroy the city and the sanctuary! History records this to be a fulfilled 70 AD event.
Another thing: Daniel said that this person was to confirm a covenant made with "the people". This means that the covenant had already been made. Where, in the Bible, do we find that "Satan" or "Antichrist" made a covenant with any people?
Dispensationalists often maintain that a future covenant will be made between "Satan" or "Antichrist" and the modern Israeli nation. This would mean that "the people" of the modern Israeli nation are "the people of the prince" used to destroy the city and the temple of the modern Israeli nation. How does that work? Believers, read the text!
Prophecy: At the end of three and a half years, the Antichrist will enter the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem and declare himself to be God (Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15-18, & 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4).
We know now that there is no individual called the "Antichrist". In fact - as we have established - Daniel said that it is the "prince" (the Messiah) which will cause the "sacrifice and the oblation to cease" - not some powerful, evil figure. To verify that this has already happened, we need only read Matthew 23:38:
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.
In Matthew's account, Jesus is speaking to living, breathing scribes and Pharisees who had "killed the prophets" (Matthew 23:34). He is not speaking about a people calling themselves Jews, 2000 years later - in fact, Luke specified Jesus' audience no less than 8 times in the chapter! Moreover, Jesus leveled judgment against that very audience to be in that very generation (Matthew 23:36).
This must be said: the bulk of today's Jews will call anyone "anti-Semite" who would dare claim that today's Jews "killed the prophets". Yet, Jesus said to them:
Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? (Matthew 23:33)
To believe that today's rabbinical Jews are those people, and to make today's Jews the target of the Last Days prophecies is to ignore the plain condemnation by our Christ of these Jewish leaders. It even makes our Savior an "Anti-Semite". Again - how does that work?
Reagan appeals to Matthew 24:15-18 to support the idea that an individual called "Antichrist" will "enter the rebuilt temple and declare himself to be God". But Jesus said already, as we have seen, that the temple was already desolate (Matthew 23:38). Our Savior's reference to the prophet Daniel in Matthew 24:15 was to his then-living disciples (Matthew 24:1) and He applied those prophecies to that current time. It was the first century disciples who could be deceived (Matthew 24:4) would hear of wars and rumors of wars (Matthew 24:6) and would be delivered into affliction (Matthew 24:9). By applying the "abomination of desolation" prophecy of Daniel to the then-desolate temple, Jesus was warning His disciples of what they would soon be facing!
Reagan also appeals to 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 to build his case of an Antichrist who makes the temple desolate. In this passage, the Apostle Paul is referencing a person who is called "the son of perdition" and a "man of sin". There is much speculation as to whom this person may have been, but there is nothing in the Bible that would make him to be the "Antichrist". Since I've been a Christian, I've heard it was Mikhail Gorbachev and even President Obama. It seems that any kind of wild, futurist speculation is permissible in preference to rational, plausible, historical conjecture coming from a fulfilled view of Last Days prophecies.
Prophecy: The Jews will reject the Antichrist, and he will respond with an attempt to annihilate them, killing two-thirds of them in the process (Revelation 12:13-17 & Zechariah 13:8-9).
It's curious that there are so many "ministries" which are dedicated to facilitating the "return" of today's Jews to the ancient land. Yet, if these "ministries" actually believe the Last Days nonsense they preach, then they are actually trying to ensure that 2/3 of these Jews meet horrible deaths.
There is nothing in Revelation Chapter 12 that has to do with today's Jews in the Israeli state. The woman is the Bride, which both kept the commandments and knew Christ. The target of the wrath of the serpent is the remnant of Israel (the literal seed, sperma, Strongs G4690). Today's Jews neither trace their lineage to the seed of Israel, or have the testimony of Jesus Christ (Revelation 12:17). Today's Jews do not keep the feast of Tabernacles (Zechariah 14:18) which was a first century reality for all the tribes of the remnant of Israel, who by then were making the yearly trek.
The prophet Zechariah did indeed prophecy that 2/3 of those in the land will wiped out, and the remaining "pass through the fire". But those left in the land will by then be half of those that were there before the battle against Jerusalem (Zechariah 14:2). The two mountains of Zechariah 14 are often believed to represent the two houses, and the reference to the LORD being on the Mount of Olives is also often believed to be a reference to the coming Christ. If this is so, then the chapter as a whole may be represent a figurative equivalent to the gathering of the remnant of Israel, resulting in Jerusalem being "safely inhabited" (another New Covenant promise).
We see here the same problem: God is sending armies to destroy the City (Zechariah 14:2) and He will "smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem" (Zechariah 14:11). The only way both of these can be true is if one battle is literal, and the other is figurative; the prophecy concerned the saving of the Holy City, Jerusalem, through the destruction of the old Jerusalem. Since it was the Pharisaic Jews that were prophesied to be smitten, it was the Pharisaic Jews that "fought against Jerusalem" - not the invading armies!
A quick note: Zechariah 14 repeatedly contrasts Judah with Jerusalem, which is consistent with the first century temple and city. The small portion of the House of Judah (comprised of Benjamin and Judah, with some of the Levite priests) were the only Israelites that returned out of Babylon and rebuilt the temple centuries before. The bulk of Israel - the Diaspora - was to return in judgment upon Judah, and would be represented as judgment in battle - not those that were to be judged!
Prophecy: At the end of the Tribulation, when the Jews have come to the end of themselves, they will turn to God and receive Yeshua as their Messiah (Zechariah 12:10, Romans 9:27-28, & Romans 11:25-27).
Paul is inarguably referring to the first century remnant of Israel in his book to the Romans. He references the same killing of the prophets (Romans 11:3) and applied the prophecies of Elijah to that current time (Romans 11:2). Paul speaks of the same Sion the Deliverer, the same Covenant with Israel, and confirmed "the day is at hand" (Romans 13:12). He said that Jesus "confirmed the promises" (Romans 15:8) and appealed to the prophet Isaiah:
And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust. (Romans 15:12)
Let me ask you a question. If Paul, in writing to the Romans, appealed to the prophets, and claimed that the time was "at hand" and that God "shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob" - do you think he was talking about an unbelieving, unrelated people, some 2000 years in his future?
Do you think that Paul, being a Jew (from the tribe of Benjamin) and being persecuted for his being a Christian, did not know of the troublesome "governors of Judah" spoken of by Zechariah? Was it not Paul who confirmed Zechariah's "to the Jew first" promise in Romans Chapters 1 and 2, and - being an Apostle to the Gentiles - apply the Zechariah's prophecy to then living, breathing first-century Christians?
Reagan certainly believes the common error that the Gentiles (which simply means "nations") are non-Israelites, and the word "Jew" is equivalent with "Israel". Reagan would likely balk at the biblical evidence: Paul was writing to first century Israelites who knew the Law (Romans 7:1) and confirmed that it was to them that the promises specific to Israel applied (Romans 9:1-5).
Prophecy: Jesus will return and regather all believing Jews to Israel (Deuteronomy 30:1-9).
The promises given by Yahweh to his people - a return to the land and the blessings - were conditional upon their doing " all the words of this law." (Deuteronomy 29:29). Today's Jews do not perform the temple sacrifices, and their Talmud is positively a perversion of the Law of God. These people have rejected Christ for over 1000 years, and they are not Israel to begin with.
Let's go farther with this. Yahweh promised that as long as His people were in Covenant with Him, he would protect them and the city on the feast days (Exodus 34:23-24). Yet, the modern Israeli nation was attacked on Yom Kippur in 1973. In 2002, a suicide bomber killed himself and 25 Israelis on Passover.
As was pointed out in The Jews in Prophecy (Part 1) the Israelites had long ago received all their land promises, and they also dwelt in the land (Joshua 21:43).
There is nothing in Deuteronomy Chapter 30 about Jesus returning to gather Jews, believing or unbelieving, into the Israeli nation. In fact, there is nothing in the entire book of Deuteronomy about the Jews at all!
Prophecy: Israel will be established as the prime nation in the world (Isaiah 2:1-4 & Micah 4:1-7).
The modern Israeli nation is characterized by terrorism, ethnic cleansing and deceit. The Jews have for centuries been a curse to the nations, setting up slave trade, usury banking systems, destabilizing governments and provoking war. They would love to be considered the shining city on the hill that Micah speaks of, but world dominion by Zionist elite should scare the pants off any sane man.
Do you really want the world's leader in White sex trade slavery to "judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off" (Micah 4:3)? Do you want these perpetually unrepentant people to establish the law that we are bound to obey (Isaiah 2:3)?
It is probably true that most Christians don't know about Israeli history; their harvesting of children's organs, their killing and maiming of Palestinians as animals, their use of Palestinians as human shield, their phosphor bombing and their false flag attacks throughout the world for decades. But because mainstream, Zionist Judeo-Christianity believe these godless people are the Chosen People (with no biblical support) they have chosen a bloody path that the authentic Christian should want no part of.
By the way: mainstream, Zionist Judeo-Christians often teach that all peoples of all nations will live in peace and harmony under our God when all the Last Days promises are fulfilled. The prophet Micah does not say that:
For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever. (Micah 4:5)
But these nations will recognize and be blessed by Israel, or suffer the consequences:
For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted. (Isaiah 60:12)
The Apostle John said that - when all is accomplished - there will be evildoers outside the gates of the City:
For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. (Revelation 22:15)
Zionist Christians are betting the blood of their sons and daughters on a people which are not the Covenant people, and on the ideas of false teachers. They do not want knowledge and wisdom; they want to believe the fantasies and fairy tales fed to them by the evildoers.
Prophecy: The Lord will bless the Jewish remnant by fulfilling all the promises He has made to Israel (Isaiah 60:1-62:7).
The blessings are not to the "Jewish remnant" but to the remnant of Israel; all the tribes of Jacob. You will not find the word "Jew" in the entire book of Isaiah.
Today's Jews are a far cry from being acknowledged among all the nations as being the seed which Yahweh has blessed:
And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed. (Isaiah 61:9)
There is only one people who are great in number, call upon the Hebrew God of Abraham, and circumcise their sons. There is only one people that name their children, cities, rivers and roads Hebrew names, print the Word of God and spread it all over the earth and claim New Covenant promises of their God. There is only one people having language, culture and migration history tracing to the Diaspora in place during the time of the prophets. That people are not today's Jews.
Does any unrealized future fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy include a multitude of camels (Isaiah 60:5) and the "rams of Nebaioth" (Isaiah 60:7)? Will the ships of Tarshish brings bring Israeli sons (Isaiah 60:9) to a city where the sun never goes down and the moon is always present (Isaiah 60:20)? These two chapters of Isaiah are full of historical people and places, and they are full of hyperbole, but there is nothing to support the idea that there are unfulfilled promises to the Israelis.
Prophecy: The blessings of God will flow out to all the nations through the Jewish people during the Millennial rule of Jesus (Zechariah 8:22-23).
There is nothing in Zechariah Chapter 8 about a 1000 year reign of Jesus. Reagan is assuming there will be a coming literal 1000 year reign of Jesus in a coming literal Jerusalem, and is attempting to tie Zechariah's prophecies to those of John in Revelation Chapter 20.
There is no time to cover the many futurist ideas concerning the Millennium, but consider this: if it can be established that there will not be a physical temple in a physical Jerusalem, then there will not be a 1000 year period where Jesus will physically rule from there.
As we have seen, the Bible is silent about a future, physical temple in which God will tabernacle and rule His people. In fact, the exact opposite is prophesied: Yahweh no longer abides in a temple which can be seen or made with hands. Moreover, if we are in the New Covenant, then He tabernacles within us.
Jesus was born under the Law, and came to fulfill the Law and the prophets (Matthew 5:17). Either the Law has been fulfilled, or it has not. Mainstream Judeo-Christians cannot claim to be under the New Covenant and believe that Jesus did not fulfill all the requirements of the Law and the prophets.
Jesus did not come to rule and reign with the Jews in a world full of peace and harmony. He came with a sword (Matthew 10:34-36) bringing division (Luke 12:51) against the corrupt Jews in Jerusalem nearly 2000 years ago, who had killed the prophets and set themselves on the seat of Moses and rejected the priesthood of the Lamb of God. Today, we're doing it again! We are giving the corrupt, Pharisaical Jews authority over our King, the Son of the Living God with their temple, their land and their dominion at any cost.
Believers, there are a great number of false teachers right now who are influenced by today's Jews who also reject Christ. They have mangled the words of the prophets and want us to return to the weak and beggarly elements of the Mosaic Law Covenant (Galatians 4:9). Like salt in an open wound, Zionist Christians herald such a return to the old Law as being fulfillment of prophesy:
Today, Jewish schools are advocating and dedicating themselves to resurrect the Levitical priesthood. They have been collecting, restoring, and designing to reintroduce this type of worship in Jerusalem. (Today's Relevance of Israel in End-Time Prophecy)
These are people who are more than willing for us to sacrifice our sons and daughters for causes that have nothing to do with the prophecies of Isaiah, Zechariah, Ezekiel or Jeremiah. They would have you give your inheritance away to a people outside the Covenants, as Esau gave his inheritance away for a bowl of lentils. They may be doing these things from the pulpit of your church.
Read the Word. Know history. Study these things yourselves, because it should be clear to you that you cannot leave that responsibility to those that would lead over you.
